Yet another reason to invite a linguist to your holiday parties

My brother and his fellow PhD types concocted a question that ends in five prepositions:

What did you bring that book I didn’t want to be read to out of up for?

I tried to improve it by placing it in Australia: What did you bring that book up I didn’t want to be read to out of Down Under up for? But the original is more elegant.

    We mourn as yet another comment is taken completely out of context and buried in the “Encomia” graveyard (which is a great feature by the way).
