  1. The dictionary :) I tagged this as a Culture item because it’s interesting to think about places and times where maybe the wind played a bigger role than it does here and now. Such that it gets a name.

    We get Nor’easters and that’s a bummer for fishermen and people in certain other professions, but the Simoom seems more ominous and evocative to me…
