Word of the day: Hypallage

An interchange of two elements in a sentence, making the sentence less clear or logical than it was before.

The dictionary’s example is “A mind is a terrible thing to waste” instead of the less ambiguous “To waste a mind is a terrible thing.”

Another example might be “Hypallage is an interchange of two elements in a sentence that is ambigous.”

Or maybe that’s just poor grammar.
