And even us Centre-Countre 2. …Nf6 people must put up with this from time to time–well, once in my case, that I remember. An Internet 5-minute game and I crushed him like a bug!
sounds like those guys who just want to trade everything down all the time because they can’t actually come up with anything or play good chess. i hate those folks. that said, and i shall show my blazing ignorance here, why would that have to be a draw?

CL – it certainly wouldn’t have to be, but as the pieces come off those of us who are latecomers to endgame expertise have more and more difficulty conjuring up an advantage.
This may seem weird, but did you play chess in high school? And if you did, did you go to school in tempe arizona? Because your name seems really familiar to me.

This is clearly a win for white. If 5..e6 then b3, Bb2, and Bc4 will bombard the Black king. If 5… Qxf3 6. Nxf3 White’s lead in development and queenside pawn majority will win.
Simple.
