I’ve had several friends who were good chessplayers but gave it up for bridge. They said in bridge, you make a mistake, you lose the hand, you get dealt a new hand and start afresh; in chess, you make a mistake, you suffer for many hours and then lose.

Um – I think you misunderstood me (or I am misunderstanding you) – I am making fun of people who complain about losing long games. I call them crybabies. I enjoy long games & dislike G/60.
Those cry-babies are wimps :-)
Honestly, I’m in it for the struggle. Building in pampering takes away from the experience. Just get in there and mix it up!
